Info: (714) 256-2489 or (213) 927-3860, APPLICATION FILED FOR SAN DIEGO BMW CLUB CHARTER Nearly 30 persons met on January 7th at the home of Marine recruiting officer Pete Glanakas In San Diego for the purpose of organiZing a motorcycle club of BMW owners. . After a short discussion period, a temporary slate of officers was elected for the three months chartering period, Including Peter GIanakas; president, Chet Thurston; vice president Tom Gaebeleln; referee, Jan Stea1Ik; secretary, Bill Daubenschmldt; treasurer, MIke Randall; road captain. The riders present, unanimously agreed that the club should be first and foremost, a -riding club and a club run was scbeduled for the following Sunday, January 11th, 1970. . There are only two prerequisites for membership; ownership of a BMW machine and a paid up membership In the AMA. . 17 BMW owners paid the ir dues to treasurer Daubenscbm1dt indicating that the new San Diego BMW club will be starting off with about 34 charter members.
