Feb. 1, 1970 - The High-Jinks M.C. motocross course in the Canyon Crest area is truly awesome. , There are lots of ups and downs, rights, lefts, off camber stretches, dr op- offs and of course, the water crossings. The stream cros sings became muddy after a few laps and they were a real quagmire by the end of the day. As many as 50 riders at a time lined up for a shot at the course and the abundant trophies . While the whole course is pretty spectacular, the water hazards seemed to be the undoing of most of the competitors. Almost every r ider Gopped, slithered or pushed his machine through the wet. In addition to falling in the mud, 100cc winner Jeff Wright had chain problem with his Rickman Hodaka In the flrst two motes, Jeff and persistent Don Elddie on a Hodaka nearly lapped the enUre field in the final moto, Dale USED PARTS ALL MAKES 40% TO 60% OFF ':. Earl Roeseler picked out a good line and rode a smooth, almost uneventful race to nail down the 25~Open honors for the day. Earl's Yamaha was followed across the Une bY the Os sa of Jim Orcutt. The High-Jinks believe in rapid service so despite the overwhelming tur nout, trophies were available that afternoon to anyone who waited around for the results to be announced.
