MILAN, ITALY, Nov. 24 - Many standard, several new, and even a few exciting designs appeared this year at the 41st annual International Motorcycle Show.
A wide variety of air-cooled and water-cooled motors were displayed and in the
case of the Tecmoto, both styles are available. The sporty 50cc machine can be
purchased with either air-cooled or water-cooled cyllDder as a bolt-on option. With
llquid cool1ng the radiator Is mounted uP under the frame and compression is brought
UP to a potent 13 to 1.
In bigger bikes a new MV four-cyllnder cafe "racer was shown, the 650cc Benelll
again was displayed (this time carrying Motobi and BeneID name plates), and the
1000cc three-cyllDder Laverda was debuted. The massive triPle, intended for lmport into the U.S. as the top of the American Eagle llne, looks very s1mUar to the
Honda-like Laverda twin with a third cyllnder sandwiched in. 75 horse power is
transmitted through a tive SPeed box to move its 485 pounds at a claimed 135 mph.
When ava.Uable in the states, the big bird will sell for around $1,600.
