YamahaS dominated the 125 Junior claBs
this Friday n1ght with JoIm Hood taldnc
first in all three motos to win the brass
and money. FinishIng second OYer all was
CUff Jobnson, who did a fine job or ridlng
but was DO match for Hood. 'Ibird place
went to Marvin Remakel, also on a Yamaha.
The track was in great shape, with just
enough rain the day before to make it
suPer. The course was &1::0 laid out backwards, which was good for most or the
riders who did show uP to race, which
was not many. Don't blame many of the
riders for not showing after last week,
but they did miss a very good race track
this week after the rains came.
The 250 Jr. division was won by CZ
rider Bill Smith, out or North Bay Motorcycles, by tak1ng all three motos.Elmer
Jobnson, riding a Penton, was second
over all by·taking two seconds and doing
a fine job by staying on Smith's rear
knobby most or the time. Yamaha mouted
.Bob Torni captured third by out-doing
Robert Doran, Ossa, who rtn1shed fourth.
The Open Junior event was won by
Husky rider Robie Morrow, who outrode
Bill Smith, CZ mounted, in all three
motos. Smith and his C Z would get the
edge on the start, but Morrow and bis
HuskY flnally passing and runn1ng a very
close race with Smith, rtn1shed wlnner in
all three motos. Mike Zura, on a Mateo,
blasted in third place with another Maico
rider, Kriss Mellon, runnlng fourth.

ROOM TO RIDE? IT'S UP TO US

WEDNESDAY, Dec. 10 - There was a
meeting held at the Hayward (Calif.) City
Center Bldg. which sbould interest
everyone concerned with motorcycJJng in
the East Bay particularly, and everywhere generally.
Tbe meeting was to bring to the attention or cycle enthusiasts the imporlance
or protecting their interests, and maJdng
their voices heard through cohesive
organization.
Two young men are respons1ble for
this fledgeling et10rt - Mr. Reg Klttrelle
and Mr. Jerry Bohan. Theypreva1Ied uPon representatives or several agencies
to attend and respond to questions and
suggest some ways to approach the
problems and work out solutions.
At present the greatestproblem seems
to be f1nd1ng available space for cycl1sts
to enjoy their sport. Cons1dering the

was a clean sweep for Ed Hermann
and Chuck Joyner, in the 250cc and
360cc classes. Both riders are spoosored
by the T.N.T. (Bul) Cycle Shop run by
Tom Woods in McM1nnv1lle, Oregon.
Ed Hermann owns his own bike but is
spoosored by- the shOP, and Tom Woods
does the tuning.
Chuck Joyner rides two or the shop
blkes and is sponsored by T.N.T. and
Lonie Maye.
Lonie May. (a Portland, Orecon area
wrestler) is a big cycle enthuslaBt and
has been out to watch the boys ride at
all the Woodland's races.

Tbe Main started out nervously. R0mero was late and everyone was so keyed
uP tbat starter Pop Odom bad his bands
full keeping some sort or stralght line.
When the flag rtnaIly flew it was only a
short tlme until B11l Jamison lay on the
groove in the first turn with a broekn
throWe cable. When it was established
tbat he couldn't restart, Al Kenyon, 88y,
came uP with 19n1tion problems and be
couldn't restart so tbat only six bikes
were ready. Rice got the jump and it was
bye-bye beezer.
Sage went through a short period at
agony in the Main event. Brelsford's
sprint was rlgbt on the rear wheel or the
Bultaco. When Brelsford rtnaIly got most
or a wheel inside on Sage's leg, Terry
glanced down and moved over, but that
wasn't the end. Brelsford moved in on
Romero and let Burrito know tbat he
was knocklng on his door by tapping the
rear wheel. In doing so Brelsford got a
little wide coming orr the first turn and
Terrible Terry saw the llgbt and immediately closed the hole. All the wblle
