Dec. 5, 1969 - It was award night at Trojan with no less than forty-siX trophies to be given outto the high polot riders for the season. With the temperature down 10 the low fifties It would take a hot nlght of racingto keep the fans In their seats. They stayed. The program got under way wi th the 100cc T.T. riders and progressed through the l25cc to the 250Cc class, and then to the flat track with all three size machines participating. After the heat races and Trophy Dash it was time to give out the gold. With all the main events to go the fans grew a Uttle Impatient, as It took so,"e time to give out all the A wards. There were trophies for the top six 10 each class 10 both types of racing, given out for points earned 10 the past season. The 110ns share went to the track hero, Jim Raymond, who got gold for the high point man In the 100cc F.T., l25ccF.T., l25cc T.T. 250cc Flat track, 250cc T.T. and second In the 100cc T.T. With three trophies earned In the dashes and the sixth earned as hi point rider you might thlnk that nine would be enough, but Jim came back In the mains to win four more and a baker's dozen Is enough for anyone. The only person to beat Jim out for hi point was Gary Scott who got the Nod 10 the 100Cc T.T. Jim was second. Gary Scott ran second in the lOOcc F.T., third in the 250 F. T. and fourth 10 the l25cc T.T. Other multiple winners were Larry Shaw, Erwin Moon, Mike Lund. 406 riders bave fllled out entry forms at this track and Just- twenty men earn the top dog spots.
