"Bugs" really llkes tbis run and almost never misses it unless some unforeseen reason comes UP. Many of the other riders feel tile same way about Wilseyville. Jim RObb, riding a Cheney Victor. was tile overall and Open class wtnner. He loved the course to say the least. say1ng "It was tile best I bave ridden since I bave lived over here" • He is from England ortg1na11y. and bas been in the US for three years. Nov. 16 - Elghthranked Expert Mark Brelsford rode b1s Dud Perkins Harley-Davidson to his second straight win in front at a full bouse at tile Santa Clara County Fairgrounds PaV11llon Short Track. Brelsford also ran away with b1s beat race and tile first semI, seWng fast time for tile 6 and 8 lap events. The first year Expert proved himself the fastest man. el<1t1ng each turn with phenomenal speed. Russ Powell. on a Bultaco. proved to be his roughest competition as Powell dogged Mark unW tile last two laps when Brelsford slipped under WIleeler Gresham, on a SuzuJd. and Powell couldn't, As Gresham closed the door. The course was well Ja1d out witll faSt downbllls and some very tougb uPbllls. You bad to be a pretty good bll1 climber to make tIIem but tIIey were maneuverable by almost everyone. A few bad to get at!. and pu!!b uP. There were three creek crossings whlch were about l-l/Z feet deep and course was very Well marked so tbat it was impossible for lUIYone to get lost.
