The camp ground was made available, complete with modern rest rooms and showers (cold) for 5M per person wIlich the tour hosts paid. The accommodations were satisfactory as camping fac1l1t1es go, but the 40 degree pre-dawn temperatures got some of the campers uP to build bonfires. By the Sunday 9 a.m. hour of the rescheduled uniform Judging, more than half of the tour riders were alreadY headed for the border and home. Some riders came from as far as Napa, California,- and several Arizona license plateS' were also observed. With so many riders more interested in getting back on the road than Judging the wilted and dirty uniforms, the parade was also canceled and the mighty exodus to the border began in earnest. In order to pay for the beautiful private dance hall and band, the traditional sterling silver Aztec Calendar pins that the oid Cycle News Tour has been famous for in past years, were replaced by inexpensive celluloid "politleal campaign" type buttons. Although the tour came in the wake of the big Norra Mexican 1000 Race, it brought a welcome influx of American money and machinery to the Mexican seaport. The merchants enjoyed the money and the townspeople enjoyed seeing the motorcycllS'ts' choppers and exotic customs. For their first effort at putting on a big International Tour, The Terrapins Motorcycle Club did a remarkably fine job. Should they continue to sponsor thl! Annual Ensenada Tour, the experience of this year's tour should prove invaluable for future events.
