ALL RIDERS ARE UNDESIRABLES
Here's an example of what some of the
good blke riders bave to put uP with in
Michigan.
We are all judged from the bad ana are
not even given a chance to prove that
tilere are some good decent elean cut
riders who enjoy it for the sport, not for
the trouble that can be caused.

I HEAR MUSIC AND THERE'S NO
ONE THERE...
I entered· the 250 Novice race at the
DesIlrt Foxes European Scrambles on
Sept. 28, 1969. At the start, I got ont
about 50-100 yards and collided with
aootber rider. My blke was not burt in
any way but I was knocked cold for about
ftYe minutes.
Since that time, I cannot remember
bow I was knocked out. I figure in an
that confusion. someone ran over me.
If anyone remembers running over a
Spoke Bender on or near adownedAT-l,
I'd appreclate them sending me a post
card. I don't have iIny bad feelings about
the incident, I'm just puzzled ~ut

happening. So far, very little.
I am very disappointed in the bikes
over bere. Mopeds abound, mostlySacbs
and Zundapps, but very little else. I've
spotted an ancient BMW Sidecar rig, but
it was owned by an American serviceman. Also ODe BSA 650, but ~t was
American owned too. The neatest thing
I've seen owned by a German was a simple Honda 250. I've spotted a cOuPle of
really ratty loo1dng BMW 250's, but
nothtng else. Like I said I'm real disappointed. I bad EUPeCted to see !ottsa,
dtfferent stuff•. You know, Munch Mammoths, Jawas, Pucbs, Kre1d1ers, Derbts,

I am currently trying to enter some at

have my Company Commanders permission to race. (He made me promise

are just -.tUng for the opportuntt;y to
show the Germans the fast way around.
So am I.

Attention Pit-Racers!
By Eric Ratts
We at Cycle News th1nk pit racers bave been ignored and unfalrly sltgbted in
our coverage at the racing scene.
We bave seen your fellow racers stop what tbey are doing just to admire you as
you wbeel1e between thetr blke and truck. They surely must be compllmenting you
wben they say, "Look at the pit racer. Too bad be won't go that
on the track."
Is it bravery or Just a tremendous amountof sJdl1 that lets you ignore the possible damage to your el
