From the pole Tomasle led Mark W1lllams on his Triumph, Novice EddIe Herrmann and T.J. Hoglan r1d1Dg a Baltaco. W1lllams, National Number 70, kept UP the pressure. He tried to get under or around Tomasie lap after lap but the Honda had enough coming out of the corners to hold the lead. Herrmann fell out of third place and sl1pped all the way beck to dead last. Somewhere, Eddie got his second wind and began a charge that picked ott rider atter rider. Almost unnoticed by the crowd because of all the shuttllng in the pack, he worked his way back to third place behind Williams. Tomasie's w1n was popular with the crowd and they 11terally swarmed over him, his dog, wite and winnlng Honda. Williams wasn't too unhaPpy. He collected second money and was srn1l1.Dlr greatly despite a palntulJy swollen hand that be injured in a TT crash the night before. The 125 Junior Class found Bultaco riders place one, two. Dave Rodgers and Mlke Pritchard had a real battle with Richard Foshay (Sachs) taking third. The High Sierra M.C. did a fa.ntastic job of both preparation and running of the event, their second in an annual series. The rider response was overwhelming and prompted a mall entry only for next year. MEXICO, announces the ftrst runnlng of San FellPe Speed Week November 15 through 21, 1969. During Speed Week a succession of ottroad racing events will be conducted for motorcycles alone, automob1les a1oDe, and a long d1stance event for both combiDed. The t1r st event of the series will be a motorcycle event runnlng two classes over a 25 m11e course. Four circuits of the course will be made for a total of 100 miles. The race will begin and end in San Fe11pe on November 15, 1969. The entry fee will be $50.00 w1tb a gmranteed purse of 40% of entry fees. The two competing classes will be over 250CC and under 250Cc with a -total entry 11st 11mlted to 200. The race will begin and end in San FellPe. The entry fee will be $200.00 with a guaranteed purse of 40% of the entry fees.
