Hutzler RICHMOND POINT, CAL., Aug, 17,1969 - Three hundred scramblers converged 'on Richmond Point, Cal" August 17 for the second Annual Super Scrambles, 2500 spectators sawPhIlAndersonand Gary Newmann battle for first place in the lOOCc main event. Newmann came out on top in a crowd pleasing race. Ron Rima sent in a pre-entry form from Stockholm, Sweden and easily took his heat and main events In the l75cc class. The 200cc class was won by Larry Batistoni. Larry put in one of the best rides of the day. Bill Trumble rumbled past 50 entrants in the 250 Novice class Happening At (,cleland By J. He barely qualified because of mechanical problems and then had to work his way UP from dead last. Brad Lackey combined with his American Eagle 405cc to beat out Ron Stockman in the Open Amateur class and then Bill Verbisclo took his second victory of the day In the Open Expert class. John Green tried to upset "Biscuits" plans without success. In the Australian 'Pursuit race Verbiscio passed a taIlen Harry Dring in the 42nd lap and took home a five foot trophy to cap his day's work. Jim Crenshaw, himself frequenily in the brass, followed Mike for 3rd place,Randy Scott riding his usual bumpy, fast manner led the scratch main from beginning to end. Gregg Lonberg, on a Hodaka, won the B main in the lOOCc class, fell and possibly broke a bone in his arm In the lOOcc handicap final, This boy Is from Redding and Is a constant, and improving rider in this class, Dale Wondergem carted away the top trophy in the 200Cc B main, and Ron Chesney of Redding received the brass in the 250Cc B main, The track was in Its usual smooth, fast condition, very much to the delight of riders and fans, TEXAS CYCLE CIRCUS SET FOR SEPT. 1 Motocross, Drags and Road Races will all fill the spoWght September 7 at Green Valley Raceway 10 miles northwest of Fort Worth, Texas.
