Greaves rider Bryan Wade had an Wlusual job recently when he was asked bY
tile Canadian d1v1s1on of the TImex Watch
Company to co-operate with them In a
fUm destined for commerical teJev1s1on
In Canada.
A team at camera men and fUm producers met at the well known international scramble course at Halstead recently.
The purpose of tb1s was to demonstrate
the antl- shock and waterproof qual1ties
at tile TImex walch. The watches were
fitted on tile crankcase of a 380ec "Griffon" and a l6mm fUm camera was
mounted on the bottom of one fork leg
and focused on the watches to record the
j1Itlng and flying stones from the front
wheel. In addition, Bryan had sound
recording gear strapped to his back to
record authentic engine noises.
As tile weather had been dry for a
considerable time, Dennis Crooks, the
farmer owner, was Idnd enough to lay
on 50,000 gallons of water before tile
fUm people were happy that tile course
was wet enough for tIlelr purpose.
