The onlY answer I ever bear coocern1Dg Prado was that the club just didn't renew the lease. It was said you couldn't make mOlley tllere, but somehow our club always managed to make out. Once a year a road ridlng club puts on the best eveut for mare riders and more spectators than I bave ever seen: over 600 riders and over 10,000 spectators. 'Ibere are no bI.kes under 200cc. SIgn uP 15 from 8 till 10, pract1ce from 10 till 12 DOOD. Durlog lunch they dress. ~e atta1r uP with real festivlties, from an introductlon by the Mayor through best dressed rac1ng macb1De/rlder aDd wbee11e contests. Then all of these riders race between 1 aDd 6. There are DO second row starts, with uP to 35 riders abreast 10 the frOllt row. I bave never seen the ambnlanee leave the track 10 the three years I've raced there. It 15 a benefit run--last year they turned over about $10,000 to the Cerebral Palsy Fum. Tllere are other great TT tracks st1ll around. You could put Prado in the 10tleld of Soufh Bay Speedway in San Diego, wblcb runs at least once a month. Sprockets Park in Bakerstle1d runs every ~ DIgbt throuCIl the summer. Ditto Madera Fairgrounds. Tbere are good tracks arotIDd. aDd they do well.
