In the last heat of the open, Jagow, riding a Greeves, was at least half a lap ahead of the second place rider, Robert Leach, the usual champ on this track. Both Jagow and Leach were beg1nn1ng to lap the last place riders in this heat. B1ll Cook of Carlton rode his CZ to victory over Jagow in the 250Cc Senior division. JagoW's engine bad quit in one of the earlier heats. Ron Powell, also of Carlton and on a CZ f1n1shed in tb1rd. Wayne Miller of Lebanon triumphed over the 250 Juniors. Virgil Sargent (Kaw) was a warded a tb1rd place trophy but otfic1als later decided that although the trophies bad been given out, the rightful third place winner was Dan Miner of Lebanon. Robert Leach rode a 125 Penton to victory in the Senior Division of that class. Larry Mascotte, McM1nnvtl1e, finished a close second on a Bultaco and George McNeilly (Yam) was third. First place in the 125 Junior Division was taken by Richard Buckley of Portland on a Honda. David Wall, Salem, riding a Yamaha was second and Stan Morin of Woodburn was tb1rd.
