too. But fate does have ber fickle ways.
He made a beautifully W1Pretentious
ride in !be TT 100 MaIn aDd by half a lap
had a bIggIe bole opened lIP between
himself aDd the rest of the mostly fast
tlddlers. TIley weaved and bobbed and
got Idnda near him a couple of times
(witbln 200 yards), but the flgbt remained for second and tb1rd place. Bob Byers
sailed (I do mean sailed) past Terry Asb
on the jump for second.
The 125 TT MaIn was an upset with
Al Wurtzel on a Penton taking advantage
of a Wildefall (pardon tile llberl;y) and
riding "Ala Robert" on the jumps.
ClasSy. Broke tile Yamaba winning string
too. An WlldentJfled 125 rider copped tile
world cup for being roo over most and
getting lIP. Ugh. The 250 TT MaIn known
in Eastern circles as Harl Karl was a
cool, cool event. Jim Raymond ona Montesa won it. Suffice It to say be won it
wItb 18 riders on the track. WIllie Hockie
on an Ossa grooved in for a well earned
second; IrwIn Moon on a Bul, and Gary
Jones and Trlumpb were right beb1nd. A
Triumpb?!! Yeah, and be did a job with
it In tile 250 TT Tropby Dasb too. Got
him a trophy.

My favorite, the 250 Flat Track MaIn,

edge deal rigbt to the flag with a Yamaha, Bul, aDd Ossa in for the next three
places.
All told, the competition Is stitt for a
Sportsman track, and a trophy bas to be
worked for at Trojan.
