PEOPLE PLA YAMAHA INVITES OTHER BRANDS TO STAR IN PARAMOUNT FLICK NOVICE GOES FAMOUS FLAG JUMPER ONE BEITER At the Perris night races recently Mike Posey, famous for his ability U; jump the flag and not get caught, got his come-uppance from Novice John Jones #486. On the start of the 500cc Open John on a 360Cc Maico, took a short cut and much to the delight of the spectators was well on his way when Posey came around the rock. Although the race was black flagged, everyone in the pit area and Mr. Posey himself got a good laugh. When the race was f1naUy run Posey proved he's the best by winning after having to start backwards. Tony Denius and young Jones followed him home. Yamaha International Corporation and Paramount Studios in Hollywood recently signed an agreement tor a major picture release about motorcycle racing and the people who ride in racing events. Paramount becomes the first major studio to produce a story about cycle racing, and the budget tor the film is set for more than $3 mUllon. The current title is "Little Fauss & Big Halsy," which are the two main characters in the picture. The two stars who will play the leads are, Robert Redford and Michael Pollard. "Fauss & Ha1sy" Is a story about two typical small town riders who try to become professional racers in the AMA Shooting starts in mid- June in and around Phoenix, Arizona. fu early August, Paramount will move location to the Sacramento area and then finish up in San Francisco at the Sears Point National Road Races on September 6 and 7.
