TIle ~st to the line was tile 90 norice with Jolin Slagle - Hodaka, the first Vegas rider to turn back tile Cal riders, bolding off Ken Axe (Yamaba) and Bill Homan (Honda). TIle 125 novice saw Peter Buck, of the Bushbusters of Vegas, bold off Sieve Steever and Dan Johnson of Johnson'S Cycle Center in Oceanside, Cal. In the 125 am/ex. tile Cal boys got revenge as Mark Kruse set sail to tbree easy first. Mark brougbt tile Kawasald team Its only first place for the long drive. Young Mike Nortll brouglltin bis Suzuki from Vegas Cycle to a second place f1n1Sb with Dan Statlander in ~d on a Yamaha. TIle 250 novice main saw beat race winners Ron Ringer (Kawasald) and Dennis Bunsen (Yamaba) go at It with Roo pnU1ng away to take tile win as Russ Sholl grabbed ~d. Bob Tooley (Ossa), back from b1s f~st Ascot TT, found Vegas moretobisllking as be pulled off tile 250 am/ex. win. Bob bad no easy time of it. Rlcb Forrest (Triumpb) grabbed secoDd and Chuck settled for ~. Everyone got plenty of racing and said tIIey'd be b1ck next year. 1118 Scramblers did a fine job as usual with few work ng members.
