The 100cc class went to Terry Clark #6 on a Hodaka who bad to battle all the other young chargers to take his third win d the year. The two loops were set up like a lazy B, and the large entry of combined 250cc, 500cc and open class riders took off for the smoke bomb at eleven o'clock. Bergquist bad a good lead with James Martino #11 on a Husky running second. Bergquist held the undisputed lead all the way around to come Into the pits with a two minute lead. Martino was still second. Bergquist made the second loopinfast time and pulled In for the win, looking real fresh and ready for more. Phil Bowers bad moved up to second and Martino pulled in third. Mike Patrick #48x on a 250 Yamaha was fourth. Last week's winner Tom Rodine #34x, took first 250Cc Amateur on his Bultaco.Rlck Hall. #408mx, a scrambles rider on a 250 Yamaha came out to the desert and took second 250 Amateur and tenth overall. Roger Terry #783 riding his fltth race came out and did the job 00 the 250 Novice class on his Husky finishing fourteenth overall. Wes bad the lead as they hit the rocky fire road a mile- after the smoke with W1"1gbt running second. Mark Rader 1/28 was tb1rd followed by Terry Clark,both on Hodaka's. Wes beld the- lead. as tile three Hodaka riders fought it out for the second spot with Clark flnalIy taking it. Then Wes lost a foot peg. and ClaPk took over .... ... tbe lead and beat back a strong c"""enge from Roo Matbeny and came in for tbe win. Matbeny 1/141 011 a S8ebs pulled in second, DeaD Goldsmlth 124 011 a H-D worked his way up to tb1rd and Mark Rider was fourth. Anderson pulled in ~ fifth. R.
