~ e.., Knievel To Jump AI L.A. Cycle Show ~ t.J ~ t.J -J U >. u Eft' Knlevel In fIIehl. One of America's most spectacular showmen, Evel Knievel, wtll jump his American Eagle motorcycle for the first time since his almost disastrous accident at Lake Tahoe in october, 1968, at the Cycle World Show, April 24 through 27. Evel wtll jump two panel trucks and the entire line of American Eagle products; 11 models of motorcycles. The distance Is the equivalent of 15 automobiles. The fantastic feat will be performed once a day over the four days of the show. Thursday, April 24th, he w111 jump at 9 p.m., Friday, the 25th, he will jump at 9 p.m. again. On Saturday and Sunday, April 26 and 27, he will launch himself into the air at 3 p.m. Knlevel will perform just outside of the west concourse doors of the L,A, Sports Arena. His spec1al launch ramps will remain In position throughout the show. Special fenced oft areas w111 be opened just prior to his performances to accommodate spectators from within the Los Angeles Sports Arena. His jumps wtll not be visible from outside the Sports Arena and spectators must attend the show to witness his fabulous performances. Knievel is still planning to jump the Grand Canyon on a special jet-powered American Eagle-built machine when he 1s able to obtain full permission from the U,S, Dept. of the Interior. He will return to the Caesars' Palace Hotel in Las Vegas next New Year's Day to take another crack at the fountains. Paramount Pictures Is now shooting the story of Evel's llf.e.
