STOCKTON, Calif., March ~3, 1969. The
winter scramb les season is now over at
the Faulkne r Ranch Race Track. Some
121 riders were on bane! to bring it to a
close. Nearly 800 spectat ors watched as
the action-f illed day ticked on. With the
temper atures into the 70' s, everyon e had
a great time. The winter scramb les are
put on by the Stockton M.C. and anyone
wbo has ever ridden at this track, knows
what a swell bunch of fellows they are.
Mike Buckingham, the referee is the
kind of referee the fellows would like to
have at every track. Mike knows his
busines s and he is good to the riders.
At one race, Bruce Anderso n had engine
trouble and dido't even ride the heat, so
he went to Buckingham and told him what
happene d. Without a battle, Anderso n
was allo:wed to ride the Main. So again,
three cheers for Mike Bucking ham.
Now a word for another fellow, Bill
