OVERTON, Nev. Jan. 26- After an 88mile drive from Las Vegas we arrived
in tile pits, or should say blew in, as the
wind- whipped Nevada desert did its thing,
to find over 50 eager Las Vegas area
desert riders preparing for tile start of
an SO-mile Hare Scrambles hosted by
tile Groundsbakers M.C.
Gene Drew (S.N.M.A. Pres.) bad Casey
Folks, club president, cornered, asking
"Is tbis FIM sanctioned?" Casey replied "No"; Drew returned "It should be,

When asked wbat bawened be said:
"I got tired" We know better; it was the
machine. Casey Folks continued to lead
as Hill moved into second, Gre1ble tbird.
Scales tired easily after a two-mootb
layoff with a broken lee, and Dutcb's
cub top came loose. Mikulski was still
in behind Grieble as everyooe pitted for
gas and water to wash down the dust.
Tbe eourse was really getting cbewed
UP; tile area chosen was not the best. It
was only saved by the rain the day before. Rough desert is what Vegas riders
