Happy Birthday, Joel Joel Robert celebrated his 25th birthday on Sunday by winning both of his 500Cc Senior motos going away. How one r ider can go so fast while spending most of the race off the groWld is s till a mystery to astonished tan s . Apparently Robert has found a way to get traction on thin air . His spectacular 40-foot leaps and crossed-uP wheeli es left no doubt in anyone's mind tha t he is s till the r e1g:n1ng world' s champion. Adolf Weil, the Maico Marvel. was the hard luck man of the week. The likeable young German lapped all but the t1r s ttour in the 250ce Senior Moto on saturday, only to destroy his rear wheelln the first chase, and crash heavily in the second. He decided not to r ide on Sunday, rather than push his luck. The American amateurs were just along for the ride. so to speak. In the early laps of the Senior motos a tight bunch of Europeans would jet past, followed some seconds later by the fastest Americans.
