By Mike Capa llte photos by Bill Pettigrew SOUTH GATE, cai ., oct. 10 - Troy McKee ran his last race as a J unior rider In superb style as he took the Trophy Dash win over Senior r ide r s Paul Wilde (Yamaha) and Bryan Spinks (Yamaha) who will be his chief adversaries as Troy and his rapid Hodaka move Into the lop class. The Senior Class In both the lOOcc and 250cc has been pretty much up for grabs In the TT division as high point man Gary Balley Is on tour with the Amer ican moto- cross team. T roy proved his superiority In the 100cc J unior MaIn by taking the win ahead of the second place man Lloyd Qulntard (Yamaha) and th ird and fourth place men Robert Parr (Hoda ka) and John Frels (B rldgeslone). The 100cc Senior Main win went to Paul Wilde (Yamaha) who was able to repeat his action of the TroP hy Dash and s tay ahead of Bryan spinks (Yamaha). Jack Morgan (Hodaka) fi nis hed In the thi r d place position. In the 250cc TT Trophy Das h, Irwin Moon (Bul taco) held his lead over Br yan Spinks (Ya maha) and Robe r t Milner (B ulta co) to take the TD win, an d ca me right ba ck In the Senior TT Mai n to take home his second first place trophy of the ilvlmlng. In the 250cc J unior TT Main, It was Bryan Spinks (Yam aha) topping the pa ck for the checkered nag while Ray Park (Bultaco) finished second and Glen Bole nbaugh (Yamaha) garnered the thl r d sp ot away from George spearing (Bultaco). Grlpsters Ron Ringen (Kawasaki) grabbed first In t1ie #1 inolo with Scrambler Bill Spann (Honda) 2nd and Desert Phantom Kawasaki rider Roger Kurtz creating a lot of excitement by gotng down at high speed at the end of the 770-fl. straightaway, stl1l managing 10 take third place. Unbeatable EllPOrt 250cc rider James Bassey (Suzuki) of the Simi Valley M. C. carried home two trophies after winning ·both the 250cc and 350cc Expert cfassea, Bassey's post-race comment: "Adelanto Is my type track, a great track. I'll drive a hundred mlles .lo ride here anytime." Every machine In the Open Expert lineup was a Triumph and Butch Rotz came out on top, ahead of Terry Mor iarty, Terry . Dorsch and Paul De La Torre.
