Leeuwen two months st raight. WhiIe
Ieadi ng the Expert Mai n the sta tor
gave out on his Tr iumph reduc ing
him to about half power; but as always Skip never gave up. He kept
goi ng right to the end and those who
passed him had to pick the righ t t ime
because he was st i II as fast in the
ti ghter turns as they were.

Into second place spot and Eddie Wirth
(BSA) th ird being hotly chased by a determined but unsuccessful Ralph Whi te
(Triumph) and that was the way !t ended ,
with Van L eeuwen aboard I!1s stutter ing
machine ending 8th.

David A l dana won his heat, then went on
to cop the Trophy Dash and the MaIn In
spite of a fall In 'th e fir st turn which
.necessl ta ted a re-start, High po i nt Nov I ce Keith Mashburn ( Yamaha) had his
share of bad luck for the night when he
fell off In the Trophy Dash and was left
facing nearl y backwards when the flag
dr opp ed In the Main. He still worked his
way up to a third behind Dave Hansen's
