EXCITEMENT AT ELSI NORE

During the two years or so of Saturday
night -racing at Elsinore, Callf., track
owners have spent a good deal of time
and effort implementing rider suggestions on ways to improve conditions.
ThIs close cooperation between rider and
promoter has paid off with smoothly run
races and great surface maintenance.
Super Traction
Saturday night, J une 8, the track was
in superb condition holding a good damp
cushion throughout the evening. Traction
was great and the troops r eally walled.
The 100Cc Novic e class was its usually pudgy sell with nearly fltty entries.
After fiv e heats and four semis separate d the racers fr om the also-rans, H.
Egge J r. won the first Main on a Kawa said with J . Wes t second. The second
MaIn was a race-long de bate between S.
Hyder on a Hodaka and Yamaha- mounted
L. Bird, with Bird hav10g the last word
