The new moto-cross track was approxImately ODe mile In length and consisted of lots of up ht1ls and down ht1ls with a few jumps and sandy areas thrown In. General rider consensus had the track as too flat and bard. With Hodaka pilots Gary Batley and Jack Morgan at the same event there seemed to be a great battle ready to brew. . Throughout the three l00cc Expert motns It was Gary Batley In the lead with Jack Morgan a close second . Moto-cross Novice Tom Rapp entered In the Expert 100 class and was a great third In all three motos and at one point In the second motu be almost caught Morgan. Hodaka mounted Batley, Morgan, and Rapp walked away from the rest of the field and fIDIshed In the for-mentioned order. Larry Lawson (15L) ???? Husqvarna mounted, completely annihilated the 250 Expert class by wlnDIng all three motos only to get off of his 250Cc r i g and onto his 360cc machlne to take first place honor s In the 500cc class Expert. John copped second place brass overall. Gary Batley was having hts problems with his gearbox selector so the best his Greaves could get him was a well-ridden third. The 5agehoppers had a welllald out run although the type of terrain could have been better. The run was very well organtzed and the trophies were beautiful as usual for tilts club.
