Upright channels are hinged to the base channel for loading an d unloa ding , and are secur ed to the base chann el with an adustable turn- buckl e to ac commodate various lengths of motorcy cles by allowing the upright chan nel s to tilt. The load of the bike is distribu ted In two man ners. F ir s t, the bump er takes onl y a vertical load through adjustable mounti ng brackets that fasten to bumper clamps. Secondly, twist on the bumper is absorbed by torque arms fastened to the car frame. The motorcycle Is secured to the carr ier with two adjustable arms and straps, one on each wheel.
