f CAPITAL TRACIERS SHOW In the tb1rd tur n of the last lap and tipped her Bike loosing her place that she had held so expertly until then. This didn't bother Debbie as la ter she came skipping - - and s miling up to us and all she said was. "That's the Breaks". These are the marks of an extremely good Sportsman. While we are giving credit to people I feel that the following gals all deserve a word of praise also•••Doris Brazil, Priscilla Edwards, Clara Gutierrez, and Edna McKee. These four are the ones who have the thankless job of keeping track of each rider's place in the pack. The C apital Trackers' President, Ralph Gutierrez of Carmichael, raced again as usual. Ralph races a Bultaco in rest" THE VOL UME D R;• Mr. EALE _ HAS HUGE STOCKS OF By Bobbie Kelly p ~() to s by Lew Ke ll y The Capital Trackers returned on May 17 for their second presentation of the 20-week F riday night motorcycle raclng to take place on the oval at Eldorado Raceway In Sacramento, Cal . With 100 riders signed up we knew we were in for a night of some real racing and showmanship. Plus I guess the Weatherman had begun to feel a little sorry for us as he warmed the weather somewhat. Naturally there were no compla1nts about tb1s from either the Racer's or the Spectators. I feel that when a compliment is made about someone on the crew 11 should be passed on. During practice time one of the riders came up to us at the gate and said, "Whoever that fellow is who does the starting Is real ter rific and I wish be was here all the time." Quote unquote. The party he was r efer r ing to was the Club starterf Refer ee, Joe Brazil. From what I have noticed to date at the races Joe is well worthy of tb1s remark. > - Dale McKinnon, Cycle News Dlst. Mgr., again tb1s week took his turn on the Oval in the 250cc Novice Class, and If he continue s to get in son: e r acing and still keep his eyes open for interesting events (which he does very well) we may be able to see him get some more points and move up in class. Keep at 11 Dale, and we w111 keep rooting for you. It a special award were given for Sportsmanship we would nominate Debbie Jackllne of Fair Oaks. Debbie races a 100cc Kawasald in the 100cc Amateur Class. During the practice runs Debbie displayed expert handling of her cycle when another rider fell in front of her. Debbie jumped her bike over the fellow, just slightly hitting him with her rear wheel, climbed the wall on the firs t turn and Immediately stopped, propped her cycle against a pole, jumped back down on the track to check to s ee that the other rider was all right. As it was he just had the wind knocked out of him . Late r in the 100cc Amateur Main, though, while Debbie was holding second place in the final lap, she cut 11 too close ' .) 7' - 450 350 115 441 ALL Buy r> 15745 Lak ewood Blvd. Paramount.
