Two things were new to Texa s .r oad
racing when pr ac tice opened for the third
race of the 1968 season. One was the
very fine course at Clear SprlngsA .F .B.,
which was entertaining Its first motorcycle event. The other was rain.
This Is not to say that It never rains In
Texas nor that Texas races are ca ncelled in the event of rain. It Is just that,
in my experienc e, the god that watches
over motorcyclists Is especi ally partiai
