Trail Bikes

aboard his trusty Triumph.
The trail bikes were !lagged ofrrifteen
minutes after the big bikes; Jim Jacklett, #11, had a good lead at the smoke
bomb, with Eric Jenson, #7, In second,
both riding Hodakas. Wes Anderson Jr.,
#4, was third on a Steen Special Hodaka.
Jack Froelich, #2 on a Bultaco, came
through with the wick turned all the way
up, and he hit a big bush just after the
smoke. He new thirty feet through the
air, end over end, got up In a daze, and
ran for his bike to take orr again, ills
only problem was that his solid iron bars
had collapsed, and it took five guys to
pull them UP.
Jacklett fouled a plug and dropped off
a few places, and then the new leader,
Jensen, ran into some trouble and
dropped out after the first check. Anderson took over the lead at this point, but
then Jack Morgan passed him . Morgan
then broke a chaIn in the rocks and
dropped way back, putting Anderson in
the lead again to come in for the win.
Jim Jack1ett was second, Cleve Thomas, #12, third, and Ed Schiedler, #8,
fourth. Casey Folks sr; #952, took fifth
and was the first Amateur to finish.
