The show Is from April 25-28 at the Los Angeles Sports Arena. Motorcycles from Maico, sachs and Zundapp, along with Glaser fairings, will surround the ancient LQlmler model In the German exhibit at the west door of the concourse. There will be an oUiclal Information booth manned by the Federal Republic of Germany to answer ail questions about the German machines. The exhibit will Include four German models that are bei ng publicly displayed for the first time Including the I\la1co l25cc road racer and their 250Cc MotoCross model. The 360CcMoto-Cross has won many six-day races and is knownas one of the gr eates t ~ndurance competitors of all time. The Los Angeles show will also be the world premiere of the Sachs Sport Engine cycle, which comes in both IOOCc and l25cc models. The Sachs machine which gained fame as a factory racer Is now available as a production competition machine . It has won the manufacturers ' team award at the International Slx-LQy Trials for the last three year s. LQimler 's first motorcycle, though the frame was of hickory wood, had a muffler, a crankshaft fan for cooling the cylinder, and an automatic clutch. It could travel only 7 mph with Its 600 rpm but it bears quite a resemblance to the latest models. It helps point out the motto of the German cycle industry - " Auf zwel Radern blelbt man jung" - man stays young on two wheels . NEW FORMAT FOR RIDERS IN NEXT VACA PRO RACE, MAY 5 After a meeting between Tony Herbold, Pres. of the S.F. Chapte r of the A.F .M. (and columnist for Cycle News) and I.S.C.E . head , John Renesch, promoters of the recent pro races at Vaca Valley , a variation in entry fees was announced yesterday. Starting with the next professional race at Vaca Valley on May 5, there will be no admission charge for pre-entered riders and sidecar passengers. All riders who have entered before the dea dli ne , April 27th, will enter the track admission gate without charge. The previous practice of charging everyone who came through the gate, be he racer or spectator, was a carryover from previous club races. In addition to this change, the AFM announced that the entry fee schedule will be modified . GP entries will drop som ewhat from $8.00 to $7.50 an d production will go up to $7.50, equalizing all entry fees . Pos t entry fees remain the same for GP, $12.00, and Production will go up to $12.00 also. Additional entries remains the same - $2.00: Pre-Entry; $3.00: Post Entry. . " This shoul d encourage pre-entries" , said Herbold, " now the difference between pre-entering and entering at the track can save the r ider nearly 50%". In addition, there will be a $1000 purse plus show money and a sldehack money race.
