TRINITY TRAILSTERS TOSS ROUGH ONE By Tom Dilli ng Hosts of the Bigfoot Enduro, the Trinity Trallsters M.C . of W1ll0w Cr eek, Calif. held a rough s crambles March24. A group of trophy see ker s (rom the Eureka-Arcata area were on hand to see how many of the trophies they could take back down the mountain. The course was laid out twisting around the parking lot of the cl ub-own ed T.T. track, then up a steep rocky secti on, alo ng a narrow , ridge, an d back down to a jump tha t had so me of the racer s r eally airborne. The jump was near the gentleman's sanitar y fac ility an d for some reason seeme d comforti ng as you sail ed ove r the jump. After the jump was a long sweeper that had so me of the racer s showtng off thei r fla t-tracking style . Then ba ck Into the sho r t turns of the pa rking lot. Due to the la r ge amount of entries In the 0- 125 class three qualifying heats were r un wtth the top four of eac h transfe rring to the Main. All classes were then run off In three heats of seven laps each. The wtnner of the 0-125 class vias Burn t Ranc h resident B1lly Huett. B1ll turned In three fast races jus t ahead of another racer from Burnt Ranch, Don McMorrow. This was Don's first trophy an d he turned In some fine r acing for It. The 250 " A" cla s s had some of the best racing of the day as Billy Law and Robin Foley spent 21 laps trying to ge t by one an other. These two were partners In the Fa r West M.C. With Bero on his Hus ky an d Kuhnle on a BSA they spent the af ternoon putting on one whale of a racing s how that ende d up wtth thei r sh ar ing fir st. The event was run by the Trallster s wtth their us ual smoothness . The T. T . tr ack r eally looks great. Although the ir fi rst even t this s eason wtll be a day race, they have installed lig hts and wtll run at night . Due to the extreme hea t they have decided to r un events In the cool , cool, cool of the evening. It's going to work out great, too. Go to Willow Cre k Saturday evening, do a 11 tti e racing, stay al l night, play a lIttie golf on tha t grea t nine -holer and spend the rest of Sunday me ssing around a nd dr iving home. The Far West group will be using the new 101 Speedway between Eureka and Arcata on the Freeway for their ,upcoming T.T . season. c, Three star Sports Cycle , a Suzuki deal e r located on La Clenega Blvd, In Los Angeles, detailed Its service manager , Dave F r is k, as luner for the 500cc Suzuki of Ron Sommers.
