The new Indian Scout that Sam Is marketing Is a beautifully done unit with regard to finish and overall appearance . He can hardly keep enough new rigs coming ott the assembly li ne to fill the orders that are pouring In fr om around the country. Sam's first new model Is reported to pump out appr oximately 63 mph In first, 85 In second and 108 mph In third. That' s pretty good for a machine of this bike's or iginal vintage. One thing to keep In mind, says sam, Is that Indian still holds over halt the world r ecor ds for motorcycles . Highlight of the evening was the presence of Pop Stuckey who was flown In from back East. Pop built the first Indian 45. Also among the throng attending was the Kretz family, Including Ed Sr . and Jr. Ed Kretz Sr. won the 1937 Daytona race on an Indian. The night's activities were highlighted by many old movies with Indians In the limelight. With all the food and drink availa ble the party turned out to be a typical Indian bash. Coach Colter Is the Inevitable likeable adult who goes all out to organize a bike club and provide cycle recreation after a drag r ace between Joey and Grubby ends with the acc ident of an uninvolved motorist. Joey, however, would have nothing to do with the club, and many followed the lead of their hometown Idol, Kamikaze Joe. As Joey . his sidekick Neeley and a . few others were returning from a prac tice r un over Drop- Dead, a hill no one dared Jump but Joey . they were met on the highway by an outlaw motorcycle club, the Marauders. nus bunch was no ordi nary one-pe r center gang.
