The Southern Nevada Motor cycle Association presented Its 5th annual Robin
Spllsbury Awards Banquet Saturday, Jan.
27th at the Las Vegas Municipal Country
Club banquet room . A turnout of over
seventy motorcycle enthusiasts were
there to cast their ballots for the recipient of the Robin Spllsbury Award.
The even ing started at 7:00 p.m ....1th
a coc kta ll hour, followed by a well prepared steak dinn er . Gene Drew then
opened the awards presentation with the
Introductioos of the newl y elected orrtcers of the association and other honored
guests. The Silver Queens Motorcycle
Clu b led off with a wards to Al Titus for
his help at all the races In furnis hing
the flne P .A. system . Th e most valuable
club member a war d was pr es e nte d to
Shirley Fuller. Th e next award was to '
Gene Drew for his assistance to the
Sllv er Queens ; it read to the " Dir ty
Old Man."
The Vegas Valley M,C, awarded Jim
McDonal d the most valuable cl ub member trophy and John Siegal the high
point award. The next awards were from
the Groundshakers M.C. with Tom Scales
an d Ken Came r on ti eing for mo s t valuable , A very ni ce trophy went to Kibby
Scales , Cyc l e News , La s Vegas des er t
correspondent, for his valued assistance
to the club. Casey Folks received the
club high point trophy. Then awards ot
the Sllver Ci ty Scramblers, the trophies
tor their tirst race of the year , were

The next award was to the Sportsman
the Year; thls a ward was ins ti luted
last year and donated by Herb Hill, for
the most sportsmanlike rider In the area
and is voted on onl y by his fellow riders .
Gene ann ounced the recipient and no
more deserving is there than Mike
Snider, who had to work and was unable
to make the banquet. The next awards
were from the Dlrtdiggers Grand Prix,
2nd 250 Expert Bob Tooley and 3rd 250
Expert Max Switzer. Ge ne Drew then
