The 1968 Road Rider's Committee
Installation Dinner and Dance January
27th will be the largest celebration ever
attempted by that cycle group.
Traditionally the responsibility of the
outgoing chai r man. Bob Adsit began
planning and preparation for the event
over six months ago and just announced
the last delaU settled; Johnny Campbe ll
and his western band will provide the
music. The dance will start at 9 p.m, in
St. Sava Hall, 1604 So. San Gabriel
BlVd. , just 2 blocks north of the San
Bernardino Freeway.
'!bose attending the dinner at 7 p.m ,
(cocktail hour Is 6:30) will !1nd a butret
loaded with food and featuring all you
can eat of s uch entrees as sirloin of
beet, swiss steak and tried chi cken.
Other items on the menu are Polenesian
rice, tossed gr ee n salad, homemade
bread, jello dessert and cof!ee. Admission of $4.95 per person cover s both
the dinner and dance with reservations
due in by January 20th . (Send to 14561.

open for dancing at 9 p .m, and adm ission $1. 50.

will be announced and the trophies a warded around 10 p .rn , Many door prizes

and an orchid will be presented to each
lady attending.

Cycl e News learned that expenses for
the '68 Dinner Dance will exceed $2400,
by far the mos t ever expended on an
RRC InslaUat10n affair.
Adelanto, Call!ornla, in San Bernar dino County on Hwy. 395 Is the site of
the newest scrambles track to Southern
California.
The county board of supervisors granted the new track permission to operate
for one year on a probationary basis . It
is hoped that the local riders will be
lured out of the brush and away from
trespassing on private property by the
attractive new cou r se where permission
to ride has been gran ted and help Is
available.
The course Is much Uke old Prado
Park, that is, a fast TT-type course
with speed and thr11ls to match Asc ot.
Spectators are ask e d to bring fold- up
chairs and please bear with the management during the probation pe r iod .
First race at the new track, landscaped with Josh ua trees, will be on
Sunda y, Febr uary 4. Gates open at 7:30
a .m , Racing begins at 9 a.m , Admission
Is $1.25, entry fee is $2. The track will
be open Saturday, Feb. 3 for practice at
$1 pe r bike or $1 per carload of spectators.
