Spectators totaling 12 to 15,000
grouped in front of the fountains
at Caesar's Palace in LasVegas,
Nevada to witness Evel Knievel
set a new record leap astride his
Triumph motorcycle on December
31, 1967.
People climbed up signs,
buildings and trees to catch a
good glimpse of Evel as he soared 115 feet to a new record over
the Palace fountains.
Evel's pre-jump show consisted of a few crowd-pleasing wheelies sitting and standing on the
