The Hi-Jinx FMC held their Tehachapi
(Calif.) Enduro Relay on october 29
this year. The mountain trails were
almost abandoned and the riders were
forced to blaze new trails through the
rocks and dirt. The course was ridden,
or rather craWled, twice in order to
provide 40 miles of rough riding.
From the start, the course was 10
miles up the side of a mountain and then
10 mUes back down to earth. A probable
speed record of 10 mph was reached by
a few daring riders. Ac'nJally a mountain
goat won the race, but was disqualified
for dropping the baton down a crevass.
Rumor has it that he was attempting to
aid a lost cyclist at the time •
