Cycling is fun, Williams says, and it is his regular procedure, after a long and tedious session in the TV studios, to get away from it all on his cycle. After being treated by a Seattle M.D., he has flown to Montana for a muCh-needed vacation. His next performance will be in san Francisco, Calif. in November on or about 'Thanksgiving Day at the Cycle '68 show. He is sCheduled there for two jumps. He definitely will make the san Francisco appearance. Regarding his schedule Grand Canyon leap, Knievel has of this date (oct. 2) offered $100,000 (one hundred thousand) in cash to the Navajo indian Tribal Council to be put in a bank of their choice in order to guarantee payment to Navajo workman for the construction of the access road, parking area, runway and takeoff ramp. Knievel has asked the Navajo Tribal Council for a 12-month permit starting immediately in order to begin work on the project at the jump site he has chosen. Following his San Francisco appearance he will depart for Daytona Beach, Fla. where be will make several public appearances. During the Florida visit he will be testing the jet-powered sky cycle almost daily at the Orlando Factory where the actual jets are manufactured.
