M. carver and father were trackside and Mike put in his usual good performance and was paid by getting a solid 2nd place in the 100 Novice mote. Mike rides a Yamaha that sounds sharp! Voll has been a pretty regular winner at Elsinore in the past and had to hattle with Tom Warren who was 2nd and L. Taylor on a fine looking Pelican. The 250 Novice moto was won by a rider 1 ....... IIiJ - . .... IIlutDII ha ve not seen hefore at Elsinore but hope to again••.D. Engstrand on a HolJda. Engstrand bad to heat D. Kanegae who now has his Bultaco Pelican buzzing along after major repairs and I expect the engi ne will be a little freer next week, and D. Anderson who for once bas brought a Honda up to competitiveness in thi s hot class. The 350 Novice division was won bY B. Clark on a Honda but R. Marquis rode tight on the bare edge all night. doing one endo in the process and high-siding one other time to come out uninjured, either him or his hike. Fish who bas come back to Elsinore now very modestly claiming DO power. sick engine. all washed out, etc. won this class as he used to, only it looked like more work than usual, as B. Tondro Jr. fought hard for 2nd on a Triumph. Joe Flores on that #35 Triumph dominated the 350-500 Experts and if anyone wants to know how, take a look at the hole shot he seems to always put on the guys. Good work Joe! A. Sparks came ott to take second after a fall that put him out of action for a whi Ie. The races were good, but the program finished up quite late due to the large number of events. A sad note is that L. Davis got off hard and is in the hospital at Riverside, so anyone who car., see what you can do to help Davis's family out.
