Waldo started to stretch with
Mike Morton coming up from the
back. Late in the race, Patrick
again made another big bid and nearly won the race but was held off by
Waldo. Ron Lacher, brother of Mel,
came up late to take third away from
Morton and Keith Kruser.
The fastest qualifier, Ted Yoder,
fell off early m the heat race and
did not ride in the final.
Waldo, Len Earl and Gaylord
Emick were the three heat race winners with Earl's heat the fastest of
the three.
Half mile racing now reverts
back to Ascot on an every Friday
