....,. ., ........ • GUZZI by . . . . a __ er Sixty-five riders and seven passengers rode three hundred miles' to make it a very successful Cariboo Trails turnout in Vancouver B.C. on June 18. 1967. One of the worst conditions was the weather•After having the "Trailsin average weather for many years. this time the sun came out and really gave the riders a hard time. The temperature was in the high 90's all day long, with no let up until late that night. 7DDcc MOTa GU III V·7 Few lIishap Breakdowns were at a minimum. and the drag truck got only two customers. ODe of them had a fiat tire. the other a hlown engine. The comfort of knowing that you have help coming was a good feeling when things went wrong, and on a ride such as this. with roads go i n g from divided four lanes expressways to cow-paths, anything could. and did happen. Of the six solo female riders, .three had trouble .at one time or another, illaine Dietz. Washington 9ger MC, of Seattle. Wash. bad tbe misfortune to lose control of the new Electra-GUde she was riding on a gravel section and injured her Ii.ght leg. This small taste of bad luck was offset by tbe fact that Mrs. Dietz will be on vacation next week and sbe can spend tbe whole week sitting around witb her leg propped up and admire the First Place Women's Tropby bestowed on her by virtue of a loss of 381-2 points. DUCATI 250 SCRAMBLER IJIdiaa WiDS All ...,......., A Bellingham rider by the name of Del Stremler went borne witb his 1953 Indian loaded with some of the largest trophies of the day. In view of this heing his first time on the run. and coming in first overall. he was given the Novice Trophy. Lexington Ave. Glendale. The meeting will he held to discuss details of the Van Der Kolk motorcycle toUT of Europe, whicb is slated to begin September 16th this year. Part of the evening will be devoted to a Question and answer period and racing movies from England. Passport application forms, bealth certificates, as well as applications for financing the cost of the tour will also be available at the meeting.
