They first squared off against each other in the heat race with the Dutchman the winner. The heat was by far the fastest of the night so both Van Leeuwen and Haaby transferred to the Trophy Dash along with heat race winners, the two Eddie's, Mulder and Wirth. Wirth came from last place to pull the surprise of the night. It looked like Mulder's night in the final in tbe early laps but up came Skip to grab the lead, right after Eddie Wirth fell off. Eddie got to his feet twice and again fell down before he walked off the track under his own power. sa. o ., 1% .. = I:l ., . = Cl ,. = .. Van Leeuwen Express Van Leeuwen then did the leading with Haaby doing the chasing - all Photo shows three different staclS of an Ascot fIIcht with Mike Konle landlnc, Rich Thorwaldsen In mid-air, and Dusty Coppace maklnc the approach. Number 12, Eddie Mulder leads Huby, Coppace and Van Leuuwen for several laps In the Expert final. the way to the tInish. Mulder had to ride full out to hold off Dusty Coppage for third. Manley was a solid fifth place with Clyde Litch just beating Ralph White across the line for sixth. Litch ran out of gas as he took the checkered flag! Mechanical trouhle is the only thing that kept Jimmy adorn out of the Friday night half mile winner's circle so revenge was taken out on the Amateur field on saturday night in the ten lap Final. It was another runaway for adorn and his Triumph with Larry Wilburn and Cannaday doing the honors for second and third. adorn now has won the last two A scot TT's and the last two half-miles he has competed in. Baker, the only Montesa rider in the twelve-man Novice Final, made easy work of the first year class and won with room to spare.
