On May 21 the Capitol City M.e. put on their seeond scrambles of the
season at Helvetia Parle in Sacramento- and there were just enough ciders to
malce each event: interesting and competitive.
S it.. BrOUlerSIn the 100 Main Ron Long got tbe
jlDDP on the rest and held it to the
end when Eric Jergenson camp up to
do battle. while Rick smith. and Ron
Smith fought it out for third. Eric
dropped it and left Long in first with
Ron Smith second and Rick right
behind.
James Childress got a quick lead
intbe 2Oo. Main on a 10o. Bridgestone
and beld on to take second. Bob
Hoffman really bad to ride to get tbe
win and be bad bags of borsepOwer.
In the 250 Novice Main Rod Val-ley got off first witb Curt McMahon
and David Gflliam close behind. Rod
held on for several laps but the
other riders were real close and Rod
missed a tum which put David in the
lead. Curt was still in there waiting
for a mistake and David made it by
going down so Curt had the lead.
Jim saitone from Petulema won
the 250 Expert Main after being
pushed pretty hard by Jim saroda.
Ross Russell and Mike Ellis. Saltoneheld them all off and they had to
fight among th.emselves for the rest
of the spots.
Ben Alley showed the rest of the
field the way home in the SOO- Novice
Main. C. Taylor and Ron Keys bad it
out for second with Taylor getting
the better orit. Six riders started and
only three finished.

In the 65(). No vice Main .Ie cry
Philpott and Thomas Hamner played
tag for several laps and went over
the jump together several times. On
the last lap. Thomas copped the lead
and Ashley Jeffery moved up but
they were so strung out, that none of
them had a cllance to pass each other
and Jerry won with Ashley second.
Bill Doran bad to come from behind to win the 650 Am-Ex. Main. lie
and .Art R. Nett played tag for third
for a while and had the crowd on
their feet as they went over the jump_
Bill got tired of that and mo ved up
to do battle wi th Bill Kreeger for
first. D(1ran grabbed the win with
Bill Kreeb~r second and Chuck Huss
third.
