East Bay Wheel s. For Information write East
Bay Whe.ls, 2754 Park View Terrae., Oak·
land, California, 94610.
SCHEDULE OF EVENTS FOR
INDIANA r KENTUCKY, TENNESSEE
,A king-sized entry list of 150 will
convene at Ascot Park Friday night
for the fifth flat-track meet of the
season.
First race on the 18-event speed
menu begins at 8: 15 p.m.
Contention appears to run deeper
than in recent years and so far during the 1967 campaign no rider has
been able to win more than one Main
Event.
That. of course, includes the
great Sammy Tanner. four-time Pacific Coast champion. Tanner won the
opener but hasn·t been able to find
his way into the winner's circle
since.
Mel Lache'r, Ralph White. Al Gun'ter, Dan Haaby, Chuck Jones, Elliott Sch ultz and Mert Lawwill are
others who figure to have a shot at
first prize.
Torrid competition has been developing in the Amateur and Novice
ranks, too. as the 1967 season promises to be one of the finest in South·
land annals.
