First place in the 175cc if went to G.R. Brown on a Montesa. Unlike steve. Art set his record time in the qualifying beat race, but unfortunately bad a misbap and fell while racing with Ron Grant in the Main Event. In a true sportsman-like manner, after Ron received tbe checkered flag. be went around tbe course. picked up .Art and brought him back to tbe pit area on his road racer. Buddy Parriott. on a Norton, captured the 500.ee and Open class event. First place in the Open class went to Dale Alexander on a HarleyDavidson. The lightweight production event over-all winner was Dave Damron on a new Suzuki, with his brother, Jim, finishing second over-all. This is the last time we'll have the opportunity to see Jim race for two years because he will be inducted into the Army on the 18th of May. In tbe lOOcc class, Ron Grant came back again to win first over-all on a little Yamaha. This is the first time we've seen Ron compete on such a ligbtweight machine, but be did very well. Tbe 50cc classes I Willow $prinCs. ~ Jim Deehan wall s around Willow swUllf' on 250cc production Kawasaki. and II were won by Colin Jones and Paul Wilde, respectively. Tbe 350cc class event over-all win went to Anthony Herbold on a Honda. It was an excellent day for racing, and many of tbe riders felt tbe beat and tbe bumidity contributed to tbe breaking of several records, as well as tbe over-all increase in tbe average speeds.
