A slow start at the 7th Annual Ci1y of
Hope~ring Tour had the officials in a cold
sweat most of Saturday morning, April 29th,
at 29 Palms. A fast moving storm soaked the
Los Angeles Basin Friday evening and evi·
dently scared many riders into waiting until
the last minute, before accepting the brii1t
sunshine.

Check-ins picked up at 11 a.m. and
when the gate closed. 567 paid entries
had been registered. Many more riders
and local citizens attended the event as
spectators. During the drill and stunt
performances, the crowd was estimated
at 2500 riders and citizens.
After the riders checked in, they found
the snack bar, manned by the Too Tireds
M.C., selling hot coffee and do-nuts.
