VETTER FAIRINGS Vetter Design works announces that it bas developed a windscreen for the new generation of middleweight motorcycles. The Vetter Fairing is a full coverage fairing which is designed to be used with standard road machines. Regular wide handlebars are retained. The resulting combination is a motorcycle with an increased cruising speed and better gasoline mileage. The driver is now able to enjoy more comfortable drivIng conditions, while remaining warmer, drier. and being protected In the event of upset. The fairing is of monocoque fibe ... glass shell construction. It is shock mounted to reduce dama.ge. and In addJtion. the windshi eld pops off under impact. It mounts in twenty minutes without removing the wheel or fender. It may be thereafter refitted in five minutes. Silver grey is the standard color. Sizes: The Vetter Fairing comes in two sizes. They appear identical, except one is 8/10 size. Loa WIRING fIXTURE The P.A.Sturtevant Co., manufacturer of torque wrenches. bas developed a race mechanic's drill fixture for properly drilling nuts for lock wiring. To try to drill these without a fixture is almost impossible. and although a good mechanic could make a fixture of this sort. it was Sturtevant·s opinion that if one were manufa£tured In some reasonable Quantity and offered at a fair price that the race mechanic would be Interested. The fixture is carbo-nitrated for reasonable service life and may be locked In a vise or even held In the band to properly drill nuts that are Metric. Sturtevant points out that you probahly will break a couple of drills using this. but once you learn the knack you can drill hundreds of boles.
