The steeplechasers will race the first Saturday o( each month through the spring and summer. Included among the standouts who'll be on hand (or the new season of competition are Sammy Tanner, 1966 Pacific Coast champion; Eddie Mulder. last year's U.S. steeplechase king; Skip Van Leeuwen, Gene Romero. Mert Lawwill. Ralph White. Chuck Jones and Dick Hammer. T,T, STEEPLECHASE RACES AT CAPITOL SPEEDWAY Motorcycle racing is coming to Capitol Speedway in West Sacramento. and professional riders will ride for 40% of the gate admissions. The Tourist Trophy ('IT) course has been put in excellent condition by the track crew. The track is wide and features right and left hand turns with a jump that takes the riders high in the air. All races will be ron under AMA sanction o( the American Motorcycle Association with Referee John Pires of Novato in charge. All classes-Novice. Amateur and Expert - will ride these events. Included will be motorcycles of 250cc, 350cc. 500cc, 650cc and 750cc engine size. Racing begins Sunday evening (twilight), May 7, 1967 at 6:00 p.m., with time trials at :1:00 and practice at 3:30. Admission will be $2.00 (or Adults. ages 12-16 and servicemen in uniform $1.00. children under 12 admitted free. Free parking is provided on the grounds.
