The Dana Point area bas been a favorite place for motorcyclists for some time oow. Final tabulation of tbe American Federation of Motorcyclists 1966 standings placed Steele first in tbe nation in two cat~ gories - tbe 175cc production class and tbe open class in Grand Prix competition. In tbe 175cc class, Steele rode a Bridgestone sponsored by tbe Custom Muffler Sbop of Santa Rosa and in tbe Grand Prix open class, he rode a 650cc Triumpb sponsored by Daly City Cycle Center. Tom used NGK spark plugs exclusively in botb machines. Tbe photograpb sbows a few of the trophies Steele won during the 1966 season...the young lady, Miss Sharon Hall, likes men who win.
