Kullnboff with Honda & Buliaco show quite sensitive control wi th a couple of youn g teeners who are quite flashy. And D. Russell does wail on his Montesa, show- ing how a medium bike can haul pretty fast. BSA's fought it out as R. Jarrett forged his groove to win the 350cc novice class on his Honda. Hey, "Goofy" John was also in there & did show' em how. The SOO & open novice runs were expertly displayed as R. Stinnett hauled away hooms on a BSA while Mr. Fish leaped aroond O'Neals Matchless on a Norton to gain a chance at the sweepstakes. Amateur & Expert events were exciting with Rogers again blasting away on a beautiful Honda. Next, a mellowyellow Bultaco, hauled out first in the 250cc class, ridden by T. Donaher followed by T. Warren who shoold have woo, except for leaning it up high and "stiffing it" on turns. BSA mounted M. Harper took a straight lead to cop the q>en Amateur and Expert event, but "KingFish" swept into the sweepstakes and spent 4 laps looking back (except over the jumps). SUrprised by the jumps, a Montesa wen t off in to its own groove with the riders left leg newly hurting. Broken forks resulted when two lightweights collided near the finish and one rider remarked "hey, where's my bi ke?" The first tu m was also "crashy" as a big bike hurtled up and over the stack of tires. He's ok. SIIowlnc up fane" Te", 0. . . . .11.... his Bulbeo bet In the IfOOve. Wow, a smail group of only 150 motorcycle guys, racing, enthusiasm at its peak and a track which will indeed, spur courage. That was Elsinore Race Track last Saturday night. Yes, the course is out there among those rolling hills, waiting for knobby's and nerve to meet and stretch forth. A long labyrinth of generated lights follow around the track (about seven eights of a mile and 5 laps for all events). You can see and feel the upcoming jumps and (you'll see) its ail so neat because tires surround" the way" on both sides and dust is actually at a minimum, while spirit verges on the maximum. ED KRETZ & SON Elsinore is really an exciting race track and rewards are qui te obvious (if you can find the place). Track manager Tom Paschal has kept Elsinor; moving and improving this year. The race track is a left turn 0[[ Hwy. 71, east of the Perris turn 0[[ and if you are planning to go, get started before dark or you may have trouble finding it. (Results on page 16)
