iNEW GREEVES CHALLENGER WITH CERIANI FORKS Q" .. '" .Q oS t.) o Photopapber. steve Keull With these Ceriani Forks and tile well-known Greeves reliability. the Greeves people have finally come uP with something truly great for the guys who want the best possible high-speed performance on smooth tracks. After riding this machine. I was so favorably impressed with the handling and over-all performance. that I feU a very strong desire to have some pictures taken ap'd to write a short article about the bike. AS a result. the n)achine was taken to tbe Dominguez Hills area f or the se pictures - and for more riding - by a group .of us who are extremely interested in new motorcycle developments. I have never personally ridden any bike with such a wonderfully soft tront suspension. Furthermore. the new bike and the new forks seem to take the most severe pounding without any mechanical failures of any kind. I think too. that all American riders will be extremely pleased with the new soft seat - about four inches of foam rubber. The combill" ation of this new seat and the new su~ pension will make .all-day riding a real pleasure on lhis machine. As everyone knows. the real test will occur in the field - under the full stress of tough competition- and over a period of many months. It will be interesting to learn what the performance of this bike will prove to be under these conditions. This new Greeves-with these C en ani Forks-has been designated as the MX3D Challenger. It's meant primarily for tbe higher speeds of smoother tracks. A few riders may be interested to learn that these Ceriani Forks will also fit on all older Greeves model (as far back as 1961). The cost of the Ceriani Forks. llurchased separately. will be about $130.00. Riders who want to blast around in the real rough stuff - and at somewhat slower speeds- can choose a SuPerblySQft. leadingollnk suspension unit. This model has been designated as the MX3B Challenger. It is to be noted it is extremely unlikely that the famous Greeves leadingolink suspension will be replaced completely for many years yet. Incidentally. it is very exciting to speculate a little bit about what a fabulous thing the Greeves people will have when they come out with a 360cc machine -and with these Ceriani Forks. A 250cc • By Ray Warner Greeves feels like a bomb. A 360cc Greeves will probably feel like a space rocket. We plan to test-ride most of the new 1967 motorcycles as they are made a vailable and give you a first-hand report of the rider's reaction to the machine and its performance.
